Overview

An integral part of the history and image of the City of Ojai are its public parks and recreation facilities. The renowned Libbey Park is the site of a music festival, the Ojai Tennis Tournament, and a host of community events. Sarzotti Park is the “sports hub” of the valley and its fields are in use daily.

The Parks and Recreation Commission reflects the desires of the community to care for and develop its parks and recreation facilities. The Commission is charged to interface with citizens and city leaders to develop recreation programs and activities, and review policies and plans for parks and public areas, serving as an advisory body to the City Council.

Ojai Valley residents place a great priority on the quality of their recreational programs and public parks; this Commission is a valuable liaison to assure that adequate financial and logistical support is obtained from public and private sources.
